Paste or type Markdown into the left pane of MarkToHTML, or drop a .md file onto it. The right pane shows a live preview instantly. Switch to the HTML tab to see the generated code, then click Copy HTML or Download .html.
Is MarkToHTML free and private?
Yes. MarkToHTML is free with no sign-up. All parsing happens in your browser with JavaScript, so your Markdown is never uploaded to a server.
Does MarkToHTML support GitHub Flavored Markdown?
Yes. It uses the marked.js online markdown parser with GFM enabled, supporting tables, task lists, strikethrough, autolinks and fenced code blocks with language hints.
Are header IDs generated automatically?
Yes. When the Header IDs option is on, every heading receives a URL-friendly id (for example, ## Getting Started becomes id="getting-started"), so you can link to sections with anchors.
Can I download the converted HTML as a file?
Yes. Click Download .html to save either the HTML fragment or a complete standalone HTML document with basic styling, depending on the Full document option.
Is raw HTML inside Markdown allowed?
Raw HTML is passed through to the generated code. The visual preview is sanitized with DOMPurify so scripts in pasted content do not run in your browser.
Does MarkToHTML work offline or on mobile?
MarkToHTML works in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. Once the page has loaded, conversion happens locally without further network requests.
